Students Of Survivors is an extension of
our Athletes Kickin' Cancer Non Profit Organization
Our Mission:
Providing a college scholarship for Senior High School student who has a parent who has fought the battle of cancer sometime during the student's high school years. Our mission is to help students of cancer survivors.
Please check with our sister web site www.AthletesKickinCancer.com regarding the same type of scholarship for Senior High School Athletes.
Athletes Kickin' Cancer is our official Non Profit Organization. Students of Survivors is an extension of that program created to help support all other students who are not athletes but also, have a parent who has survived cancer. Students do not have to prove they have financial need. We already assume that the scholarship money is needed, as treatments, medicines, and all else involved with surviving cancer can be so financially devastating, even if you are lucky enough to have had insurance. There seems to be many scholarships out there for students who have had cancer or have had a parent who has died from cancer but not much for students of survivors. I saw the need and thus created our S.O.S College Scholarship Award. Please click the donation link at the top of this page to make a donation to help these much deserving students. S.O.S. College Scholarship Award Criteria
Award Value: TBA
Student may live in any of the 50 United States
Student must be a Senior High School Student with at least a 3.0 GPA
*Student must provide proof that they will be attending a particular college
the following Fall after High School graduation
Student must have one of the following people submit 1 letter of recommendation using the e-mail address listed below. Identity of the person issuing the letter of recommendation will be verified:
1. A High School Teacher from any of the students 4 High School Years
2. Any High School or other social Club Leader from a club that the
student has been involved and/or a member
3. Student's Employment Supervisor who has known the student at least one year
Letter of recommendation needs to include details of how you have been a leader and/or
have been an inspiration to others. As many details as possible needs to be provide
regarding why they think you deserve this scholarship award. There are no restrictions on the length of the letter.

Deadline for Letter of Recommendation:
April 15, 2010
Winner will be announced on or before May 30, 2010
Scholarship will be awarded no later than July 1, 2010
Scholarships will be awarded directly to the student
